Niki grew up in Fort Lauderdale and planned to become a marine biologist until she started modeling. She got her break after winning a Fresh Faces contest in New York. Niki appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, 1997-1998 and was named as one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1991. She has also released her own calendar the last four years. Niki has her own company, Niki Inc. and when she is not working, she enjoys caring for her children. Her younger sister Krissy, who had a promising modelling career died in July 1995 from asthma complications. Niki also has an older sister Joelle. Niki married Miami Hooters footballer Matthew Martinez in December 1993 but is now divorced. She has twin boys, Jake and Hunter.
