It is not certain that the old Hollywood rivalry between television and movie stardom still exists.
For a long time, movie stars would frown upon television, considered a medium beneath them, while
television actors looked to movies for world-wide acclaim. Although movies seemed to be
Jennifer's aspired goal, it would be television and the butt-kicking, secret agent-type role on the
show Alias that would lead her to national (in North America)
and shortly international, recognition. In the twenty-first century, it would appear the medium
doesn't matter, but the story...however recycled.
